Environmental, social and the importance of hygiene
We approach sustainability from two angles:
- Environmental: Contributing to reducing our carbon emissions and resource use across our operations and value chain where relevant. Being part of Essity, Cushelle participates to the group’s long-term climate action plan, guided by science-based targets (SBT)
- Social: Within Essity, an important part of our mission is to support and improve well-being for people and societies by promoting access to hygiene, health solutions, and advocating for gender equality. This includes educating the community about health and hygiene, and why good hygiene is important.
These two areas guide our efforts to create products that support both environmental progress and social impact.

Essity continually innovates to design its kitchen roll and toilet paper products in line with its sustainability objectives, including the use of responsibly sourced or recycled fibres where applicable, improving resource efficiency in production and reducing our carbon emissions where feasible.
