Reducing transport-related emissions
We explore different vehicle technologies to support the reduction of emissions in transport.
These include the gradual use of alternative energy carriers such as electricity, LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), and electric vehicles, depending on local availability and infrastructure.
We continue to test and implement these solutions where relevant, as part of our efforts to reduce transport-related emissions.
Optimising logistics to improve efficiency
In addition to vehicle technologies, we work to improve logistics efficiency in order to reduce carbon emissions in transport. This includes maximising the load of vehicles, optimising routes for multiple drop-offs, and leveraging a mix of transportation modes.
Working with our carriers on CO2 reduction initiatives
We partner with our carriers on CO2 reduction initiatives, such as introducing lower-emission vehicles, like multi-fuel vehicles using liquefied natural gas, electricity, and vegetable oil.
Collaboration with our suppliers and customers plays a crucial role in our strategy. Together, we establish round trips to reduce empty miles and adjust pallet configurations to improve load-fill. These efforts contribute to reducing transportation emissions without compromising on efficiency.
